Many Mothers is excited to announce the arrival of Joy’s Baby Boxes!
This is an exciting program that aims to reduce the rate of infant mortality in our community through the distribution of Baby Boxes, in-home support for families, and safe sleep education.
What is a Baby Box?
- A box made of heavy cardboard, with mattress and sheet, serving as a safe sleep environment for a baby weighing up to 15 pounds and up to 6 months old.
- The box includes some useful baby supplies to help baby get off to a good start, such as diapers, wipes, ointment, onesies, and other basics.
- Families who participate in the program will also receive free education about safe sleep practices, including a home visit from a Many Mother Program Coordinator and follow-up visits at one and six months. Home visits are available in both English and Spanish.
Who can receive a Baby Box?
Baby Boxes are available to families who are expecting or have an infant under 6 months of age in Santa Fe, Rio Arriba, and Los Alamos Counties. We are thankful for generous support from the Joy Rose Lanum Memorial Fund and CYFD.
Can I make a donation for the Baby Boxes?
